Taylor Swift Ads
I designed parts of a Taylor Swift stadium tour ad campaign as part of an assignment for my Media Design class. This consisted of 4 pieces:
-
Web banner ad
-
Newspaper column ad
-
Printed poster ad
-
Tweet with photo
I took inspiration from her most recent album Reputation. My goal was to keep brand consistency with the album cover.
Reading naturally top to bottom. Image of Taylor Swift is likely to catch the viewers eye So Taylor’s photo was made the largest element on the page Made her name larger for emphasis of "Who?" smaller for the other details WHEN? WHAT? WHERE?
The eye naturally reads the top first then the bottom. Certain elements need to stand out more The text “Taylor Swift” needs to be the first thing you see Other elements of text got smaller as they had lesser importance. “Stadium tour” “VIP Tailgate Party” “Enter essay contest to win” is smallest People still reading are most likely to enter the contest.
I used this album as inspiration, and tried to keep design elements consistent throughout the ads. I continued the black and white color scheme. Also continued using the same typefaces as Taylor's album artwork: Engravers Old English, Kepler STD Semi-condensed. My other goal was to establish the visual hierarchy of text Who? What? When? Where?
